The legend of Krakow’s cultural life is still, posthumously, present near the premises of the renowned Piwnica pod Baranami. Piotr Skrzynecki was a choreographer, director, and cabaret impresario that was the charismatic spirit that facilitated the rise to glory of the now cultural centrum in which actors, writers and intellectuals that represent the bohemia of Kraków can meet. His classic look of the feathered hat and cape was immortalised in the figure that can be found in the vicinity of Piwnica pod Baranami. There is a custom that his statue is supposed to have a cut flower in his hand at all times. It is a moving gesture that commemorates one of the most significant icons of the cultural side of Poland’s second capital city.
